What this is

A reason to document the whole thing.

Most vehicles online are a handful of photos of a finished car. The story — what it came from, what went wrong, who did the work, why it mattered enough to keep — usually lives in somebody's head and a shoebox of receipts. This is an invitation to put it somewhere permanent.

A garage workbench: an open notebook still blank, beside photographs of a restored classic car, its blueprints and the car itself in the doorway.

How to enter

Four steps, and you already did the hard one

The work of building the vehicle is behind you. This is just writing it down.

  • Create an account, free.
  • Add your vehicle by VIN.
  • Document it — a description, photos of the exterior, interior and frame, and at least one service record.
  • Hit Request to be Featured on your record page and tell us what makes it worth reading.

A restorer's desk: handwritten restoration notes and a dated build timeline, a paid service invoice, photos of the finished car inside and out, and the vehicle's VIN plate.

What makes a strong entry

The story, told properly

We're not judging the vehicle against anyone else's. We're reading how completely and honestly its story is documented.

  • Detail beats polish. What broke, what you'd do differently, and the part that took three tries all read better than a clean beauty shot.
  • Show the sequence. A record that moves from where it started to where it is now tells a story a single photo can't.
  • Credit the people. Shops, family, the person who found it — a build is somebody's time and judgment, and saying whose is part of the record.
  • Receipts, dates and service history are the backbone. They're what turns a good story into a documented one.
