My Steward Registry™ Legacy Car Show Featured Build Contest
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
1. The Contest
My Steward Registry™ is looking for vehicles with stories worth preserving.
Entrants are invited to create and document their vehicle on My Steward Registry and submit that vehicle for consideration to be featured on The Legacy Car Show.
We're not looking for the best car. We're looking for the best story.
2. Eligibility
The contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
Almost any legally owned road-going, recreational, competition, collector, historic, specialty, custom, restored, working, or project vehicle may be considered.
A vehicle does not need to be rare, expensive, restored, modified, or show-quality to enter.
The entrant must own the vehicle or have sufficient authorization from the owner to submit the vehicle and participate in the contest.
Employees, officers, directors, and immediate family members of the Sponsor and other parties directly involved in administering or judging the contest may be excluded. [Attorney to finalize exclusions.]
3. How to Enter
To enter:
- Create or maintain a free account at My Steward Registry.
- Create or claim the vehicle being entered.
- Build the vehicle's record as completely and authentically as reasonably possible.
- Include photographs and a written description of the vehicle and its story.
- Entrants are encouraged to include available supporting materials such as historical photographs, service records, receipts, restoration/build documentation, videos, ownership history, milestones, awards, original documents, or other materials that help tell the vehicle's story.
- Select “Request to Be Featured” / “Enter Contest” and complete the required contest submission.
The platform already supports the Request to Be Featured/contest process, including using the owner's existing vehicle project as the entry.
There is no requirement that every historical record for the vehicle be available. Entrants should document what they know and what they can reasonably substantiate.
4. What We're Looking For
Entries will be evaluated primarily on:
The Story — 50%
The meaning, history, people, experiences, provenance, family connection, restoration journey, preservation story, working history, or other circumstances that make the vehicle's story compelling.
The meaning, history, people, experiences, provenance, family connection, restoration journey, preservation story, working history, or other circumstances that make the vehicle's story compelling.
Documentation — 30%
The quality, authenticity, organization, detail, and completeness of the vehicle's My Steward Registry record.
The quality, authenticity, organization, detail, and completeness of the vehicle's My Steward Registry record.
Stewardship — 20%
Evidence of the owner's efforts to care for, maintain, preserve, restore, document, or responsibly pass along the vehicle and its history.
Evidence of the owner's efforts to care for, maintain, preserve, restore, document, or responsibly pass along the vehicle and its history.
This intentionally makes story the deciding factor, consistent with the concept already established for Legacy Builds: entries should succeed because they're stories worth telling, not simply because they're expensive or heavily modified.
5. Selection of Winner
One Grand Prize winner will be selected by a judging panel designated by My Steward Registry.
This is a judged contest and not a popularity contest. Social-media likes, followers, shares, or public votes will not determine the winner.
Judges may contact finalists for additional information, photographs, documentation, interviews, or verification before making a final selection.
All judging decisions are final, subject to the Official Rules.
6. Grand Prize
One winner will receive the opportunity to have their vehicle and its story professionally featured on The Legacy Car Show.
The production team will travel to the winner's location, subject to production requirements and geographic limitations, to film the winner, the vehicle, and the people and places relevant to its story.
The footage will be professionally produced into a featured segment intended for national television broadcast as part of The Legacy Car Show.
Your car. Your story. National television.
[Before publication: finalize the exact show/host/network language with Sam and the production company.]
That's important because the existing project plan specifically calls for Sam's approval of the television framing and contest language before public promotion.
7. Winner Requirements
The potential winner must:
- Verify ownership or authority relating to the vehicle.
- Make the vehicle reasonably available for filming.
- Cooperate with scheduling and reasonable production requirements.
- Participate in interviews and filming as reasonably requested.
- Sign appropriate eligibility, liability, publicity, appearance, location and production releases.
- Obtain necessary releases/permissions for other individuals, private locations or third-party materials included in the story where required.
If the selected winner cannot reasonably participate in production, the Sponsor may select an alternate winner.
8. Submitted Content and Authenticity
Entrants must have the right to upload and submit the photographs, videos, documents, written material and other content included with their entry.
Entrants should not knowingly submit false, misleading, fabricated or materially inaccurate information.
Historical information based on family history, personal recollection or other sources that cannot independently be verified may still be submitted but should be identified appropriately.
9. Rights to Entries
Entrants retain ownership of their original submitted materials, subject to the My Steward Registry Terms of Use.
By entering, entrants grant the Sponsor and designated production partners the permissions reasonably necessary to review, promote and administer the contest.
Any broader television, advertising, promotional, editing, sublicensing or perpetual usage rights should be stated clearly here after legal review rather than buried in fine print.
I'd have your attorney pay particular attention to this section.
10. Filming and Broadcast
Selection as the potential winner does not guarantee filming or broadcast if circumstances outside the Sponsor's reasonable control prevent production or distribution.
Production dates, locations, segment length, editorial content, broadcast schedule, networks, streaming availability and other production matters may be subject to change.
The production company retains appropriate editorial discretion over the television program.
11. Entry Period
Contest Opens: 08/26/2026
Contest Closes: 12/26/2027
All entries must be submitted through My Steward Registry before the closing deadline.
12. Geographic Considerations
Limited to the 48 contiguous United States
13. Taxes and Expenses
No cash alternative will be provided except at the Sponsor's discretion.
Any taxes resulting from the prize are the winner's responsibility.
We need to decide whether My Steward Registry pays all reasonable production-team travel expenses while the winner remains responsible for their own incidental expenses. That's probably the cleanest arrangement because we're traveling to them.
14. General Conditions
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries involving fraud, manipulation, infringement, inappropriate content, falsified documentation, violation of these Official Rules, or conduct that could compromise the integrity of the contest.
Sponsor may modify, suspend or cancel the contest when circumstances outside its reasonable control make administration impractical or compromise the integrity of the contest, subject to applicable law.
