# My Steward Registry

> A public vehicle history registry, formerly and still known as RustFax. Rust protection treatments, service records, warranties, inspections, and restoration stories are kept against the VIN, so the record travels with the vehicle rather than the owner.

My Steward Registry documents a vehicle's history and attributes every entry to its source. It does not certify vehicle condition, determine value, provide appraisals, or guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted information. Entries come from vehicle owners, from service providers such as New Hampshire Oil Undercoating, and from inspections; each is labeled with where it came from so a reader can weigh it accordingly.

Public vehicle records are addressed by VIN at https://www.mystewardregistry.com/vehicles/{17-character VIN}. Owners choose which of their service records are publicly visible, so a public record is a subset of what the owner holds — an absent entry means "not shared", never "did not happen". Vehicle records are not enumerated anywhere: they are reachable by VIN, which is how a reader is expected to arrive at one.

Owner account areas, the sign-in and password flows, and staff admin tooling hold private records, require a sign-in, and are disallowed in robots.txt. They are not available to agents.
